01The build
The problem
Wedding hall operators run a high-value, date-critical business on tools that cannot express it. Bookings live in a paper diary, deposits are tracked on a phone, and menu and decor choices arrive over WhatsApp. Double-booking a Saturday in wedding season is not an inconvenience — it is a lost booking and a damaged reputation. The information needed to prevent it exists, but it is spread across four places and one person’s memory.
What we built
We built a single system around the booking, because in this business the date is the record everything else attaches to. Availability is checked against confirmed and tentative holds before anything can be entered, so a clash is refused rather than discovered. Each booking carries its own package, guest count, menu selections, add-ons and payment schedule, and the total recalculates as those change instead of being retyped. Advances, part-payments and outstanding balances are tracked per event, so the question "who still owes us money for next month" is a screen rather than an afternoon.
Where it landed
Booking, billing and event details live in one place, and the operator can answer availability and payment questions immediately rather than after checking three sources. Built as a reusable platform, so it can be configured for a new hall without rebuilding it.
